Summer Programs
Adult Summer Reading Challenge
June 1 – August 31

Road trip across Canada without leaving home! Save on gas this summer by reading  books by Canadian authors and/or set in Canadian locations.   Every category read earns a ballot for the monthly draws.

Drop by the Information Desk to pick up your bookmark and begin your reading journey.
Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival Screening
Wednesday, June 17
Doors open at 4:30pm, screening starts at 5:00pm
Galaxy Cinemas, Owen Sound (1020 10th Street West)

You are invited to an eclectic showcase of films created by local youth, followed by an awards ceremony announcing the winners of the 2026 Grey Bruce Youth Film Festival. The screening is free to attend, and refreshments will be available for sale at the Galaxy concessions.
We are excited to welcome our two summer students: Mackenna and River to the Library! You will see them helping with programs and on the desk in Youth Services until the end of August. Thanks to Young Canada Works and Canada Summer Jobs for funding support that makes these two positions possible.

Outside of the Library, River enjoys playing hockey and roller derby and her favourite books are sad contemporary fiction.

When Mackenna is not at the library, you will likely find her swimming in the water or tumbling across the sand! In her downtime, she enjoys reading books about sports and romance novels.
Welcome Mackenna and River!
Harrison Park Pool Passes
Coming June 27! Harrison Park Pool passes are not holdable and will be available on a first-come, first-served basis. This pass loans for 3 days and is not renewable.

Looking for other ways to get outside this summer? The Library also loans Ontario Parks day passes and Grey Sauble Conservation Area parking passes.

Donation: Explorer Backpacks
The Library is pleased to make available to borrow Explorer Backpacks thanks to a donation from the Grey Sauble Conservation Authority who was able to create the backpacks with funding from the TD Friends of the Environment Foundation.

These awesome backpacks contain everything you need to get outside and start learning more about the natural world around you: binoculars, games, pocket guides and books!

Thank You
Thanks to the Island View Drive and Area Ratepayers' Association and local author Eric Zweig for a recent donation of $250 to the Library's Youth Services Department, helping to support programs and services for children. Eric generously directed the donations from his recent talk at the Association's May Speakers Series to the Library.
Yoto Card Collection Expansion!
In response to patron feedback we have added more Yoto cards to our collection and have split up collections to provide better access.
Please be aware that when borrowing a Yoto Player they will only function with the cards included with each Player. Thanks to patron comments we have added more cards to each Player kit.
